I thought I would share another image associated with this big, sympathetic and well-researched article in the Irish Times today.
Features myself plus:
Moira Dillon (of ME Advocates Ireland); Brian Hughes, professor of psychology in NUIG; Prof Douglas Kell, a biochemist working in Liverpool University; Dr William Weir, an infectious diseases expert; Dr James O’Donnell, director of vascular biology at the RCSI; Dr Ciara Martin (chairs a multidisciplinary group of clinicians and patient representatives devising HSE guidelines); Rosanna & Alan; Una Hearne.

I was one of several people interviewed today for a large feature in the Irish Times.

“ME: ‘I spend 20 hours a day lying down. I have four upright hours in the day’: Myalgic encephalomyelitis sufferers live with a range of conditions some have described as being ‘buried alive’ or as a ‘living death’”

Today was the first time I was on a bus in 28 years. 🍾🎉
I was using the Dublin Bus Travel Assistance Scheme to practice going on & off the bus in my electric wheelchair. A great, free scheme that should help me get my confidence & independence back.
Most of the practice was done at a terminus so I could do it at my own pace initially with nobody on board.
